Here we have a couple of experimental unfinished drawings that I thought were interesting. Unfortunately my favorite pen nib is too dull now, and I am on the hunt for a good replacement. Alas!

Portrait of Hannah

Yesterday I did a sketch portrait session with my younger sister Hannah. In this sketch she is looking down because we were drawing each other. We took turns looking up at each other near the end so that we could get the eyes drawn in.

Dragon Disaster


Guilty as charged, I like to draw dragons. Is it ironic that I find drawing a dragon torching an unsuspecting traveler so relaxing? Besides, I enjoy the shocked look on the traveler's face (or skull I should say). The real question here is how do you let such a large wingless creature sneak up on you?

Gargoyle Dragon

When I painted this dragon I had the gargoyles from Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame in mind. I recently watched that movie and found the colors and backgrounds very interesting.
